Project info

Project Objective

To design a detailed CAD model of a drone with precise tolerances for arms and screws, while adhering to weight and size constraints, as the final project for an Engineering Graphics and CAD course at Stony Brook University.

What Was Done

Utilized Fusion 360 to create a 3D model of a drone that met the required engineering specifications. Incorporated design constraints to ensure accurate tolerances for components such as arms and screws, ensuring structural integrity and assembly feasibility. Rendered the completed model to produce high-quality visual representations suitable for presentation and evaluation.

Skills Used

  • CAD modeling and design (Fusion 360)

  • Application of engineering tolerances to ensure component compatibility

  • Understanding of material properties for lightweight design

  • Rendering and visualization techniques for presentation

End Result

Delivered a precise and visually compelling CAD model of a drone that complied with all project requirements. The model showcased a balance between functionality and design, meeting tolerance, size, and weight specifications effectively.
